Effective Date: 1 July 2026

This Code of Conduct forms part of the agreement between Parimukti Yoga and Meditation Private Limited (“Parimukti”) and every participant attending a retreat, Somatic Facilitator Training, workshop, online course, or other Programme.

Our intention is to create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where every participant has the opportunity to learn, grow, and participate fully.

1. Mutual Respect

Participants agree to:

  • treat every participant, facilitator, staff member, volunteer, venue employee, and member of the local community with dignity and respect;
  • communicate honestly and respectfully;
  • contribute positively to the group environment;
  • respect differences in culture, nationality, beliefs, identity, and personal experience.

Harassment, intimidation, discrimination, bullying, or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated.

2. Personal Responsibility

Participants remain responsible for:

  • their own choices;
  • their own physical wellbeing;
  • their own emotional wellbeing;
  • their own participation.

Participants are encouraged to communicate with facilitators whenever they require support or wish to modify an exercise.

Participants may decline or stop any exercise if they believe continuing would be unsafe.

3. Physical and Emotional Boundaries

Many Programme exercises involve trust, vulnerability, and interpersonal interaction.

Participants agree to:

  • respect personal boundaries;
  • seek consent before physical contact outside facilitator-led exercises;
  • immediately respect another participant’s refusal or request to stop;
  • avoid behaviour that could reasonably make another participant feel unsafe or uncomfortable.

Consent may be withdrawn at any time.

4. Confidentiality

Participants are encouraged to speak openly about their own experience after the Programme.

However, participants agree not to disclose another participant’s:

  • name;
  • personal story;
  • medical information;
  • emotional disclosures;
  • photographs;
  • contact details; or
  • identifying information,

without that person’s express permission.

This obligation continues after the Programme has ended.

5. Alcohol and Drugs

Parimukti does not prohibit responsible alcohol consumption outside scheduled Programme activities.

However, participants must not attend any Programme activity while under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or any substance that significantly impairs judgement, behaviour, or safe participation.

The possession, use, or distribution of illegal drugs during the Programme is strictly prohibited.

6. Respect for the Venue

Participants agree to:

  • respect accommodation and venue property;
  • comply with venue rules;
  • avoid unnecessary noise;
  • respect local customs and laws;
  • report accidental damage promptly.

Participants remain financially responsible for damage caused intentionally or through negligence.

7. Photography by Participants

Participants are welcome to take photographs of their own experience.

However, they must not:

  • photograph or record another participant without permission;
  • record confidential group processes;
  • publish identifiable images of other participants without consent.

Parimukti may prohibit recording during specific sessions where privacy or learning would otherwise be compromised.

8. Mobile Phones and Electronic Devices

To preserve the quality of the Programme:

  • mobile phones should be silenced during sessions;
  • electronic devices should only be used where appropriate;
  • recording teaching sessions requires prior written permission from Parimukti.

9. Safety

Participants agree to follow all reasonable safety instructions provided by facilitators.

If a participant experiences:

  • pain;
  • dizziness;
  • emotional overwhelm;
  • injury; or
  • any other condition affecting safe participation,

they should inform a facilitator immediately.

10. Breach of this Code

Where a participant breaches this Code of Conduct, Parimukti may, depending on the seriousness of the conduct:

  • provide guidance or a verbal warning;
  • issue a written warning;
  • restrict participation in specific activities;
  • require the participant to leave a session temporarily;
  • remove the participant from the Programme without refund.

Examples of serious misconduct include, but are not limited to:

  • violence or threats;
  • harassment;
  • sexual misconduct;
  • discrimination;
  • repeated disruptive behaviour;
  • serious dishonesty;
  • possession or distribution of illegal drugs;
  • conduct creating a significant safety risk.

Removal under this section constitutes a material breach of the Terms & Conditions.

11. Commitment to Community

Parimukti believes that meaningful transformation occurs within a community built on trust, integrity, responsibility, compassion, and mutual respect.

By attending a Programme, participants agree to contribute positively to that environment for the benefit of everyone involved.
