13. Participant Responsibilities

Participants are responsible for:

  • providing accurate and complete information during registration;
  • complying with these Terms, the Code of Conduct, and all reasonable instructions given by Parimukti facilitators and staff;
  • treating fellow participants, staff, venue personnel, and members of the local community with dignity and respect;
  • ensuring they possess all required travel documents, passports, visas, vaccinations, and other entry requirements;
  • arriving at the Programme fit to participate;
  • taking responsibility for their own personal belongings at all times.

Participants remain responsible for their own decisions throughout the Programme and are encouraged to communicate openly with facilitators whenever they experience physical or emotional difficulty.

14. Health, Medical Disclosure and Participant Suitability

Parimukti’s programmes include practices that may be physically demanding or emotionally intensive, including but not limited to:

  • yoga;
  • breathwork;
  • somatic practices;
  • meditation;
  • movement exercises;
  • emotional processing;
  • group processes; and
  • periods of silence or self-reflection.

Participants acknowledge that such activities may not be appropriate for every individual.

Before attending, each participant must disclose any medical, psychological, or physical condition that may affect safe participation.

This includes, without limitation:

  • cardiovascular disease;
  • uncontrolled high or low blood pressure;
  • respiratory conditions;
  • epilepsy or seizure disorders;
  • recent surgery;
  • pregnancy;
  • significant musculoskeletal injuries;
  • psychiatric conditions;
  • medications that may affect participation; or
  • any other condition reasonably relevant to participant safety.

Participants agree that all information provided is complete, truthful, and accurate.

Failure to disclose relevant information may result in refusal of participation or removal from the Programme without refund.

Parimukti reserves the right to request additional medical information or written medical clearance where reasonably necessary.

Parimukti further reserves the right to decline, postpone, suspend, or terminate participation where, in its reasonable professional judgement, participation would present an unacceptable risk to the participant or to others.

15. Medical Indemnity Form

Completion of Parimukti’s Medical Indemnity Form is a mandatory condition of participation in any Programme requiring physical, somatic, or breathwork practices.

Participants warrant that all information supplied within the Medical Indemnity Form is complete and accurate.

Providing false, misleading, or incomplete medical information constitutes a material breach of these Terms.

16. Assumption of Risk

Participants acknowledge that all physical movement, yoga, breathwork, meditation, emotional processing, outdoor activities, travel, and group experiences involve inherent risks that cannot be entirely eliminated.

These risks may include, but are not limited to:

  • physical injury;
  • muscular strain;
  • dizziness;
  • hyperventilation;
  • emotional distress;
  • psychological discomfort;
  • aggravation of pre-existing medical conditions;
  • accidents associated with travel;
  • illness; and
  • unforeseen events beyond Parimukti’s control.

Participants voluntarily choose to participate with full knowledge of these inherent risks.

Each participant remains responsible for determining their own physical and emotional limits and may stop any activity at any time if they believe continuing would be unsafe.

Nothing within these Terms excludes liability where such exclusion is prohibited by applicable law.

17. Medical Treatment

Parimukti is not a medical, psychiatric, or psychological healthcare provider.

The Programmes are educational and experiential in nature.

Participation should not be regarded as a substitute for medical diagnosis, medical treatment, psychotherapy, psychiatric care, or advice from appropriately qualified healthcare professionals.

Participants remain solely responsible for seeking professional healthcare whenever appropriate.

In the event of illness or emergency, participants authorise Parimukti to obtain emergency medical assistance where it reasonably believes immediate treatment is required and the participant is unable to make decisions.

Any medical expenses, evacuation costs, hospital charges, medications, transportation, or related costs remain the sole responsibility of the participant.

18. Travel Insurance

Parimukti strongly recommends that every participant obtain comprehensive travel insurance before travelling.

Appropriate insurance should include cover for:

  • Programme cancellation;
  • overseas medical expenses;
  • emergency evacuation;
  • personal liability;
  • travel disruption;
  • baggage loss;
  • theft; and
  • personal belongings.

Failure to obtain insurance remains the participant’s own decision and responsibility.

19. Code of Conduct

Participation in a Parimukti Programme requires mutual respect, professionalism, and consideration for the wellbeing of others.

Participants agree to:

  • behave respectfully at all times;
  • respect personal, physical, emotional, and cultural boundaries;
  • refrain from harassment, intimidation, discrimination, bullying, or abusive behaviour;
  • comply with all reasonable safety instructions;
  • respect venue rules and local laws;
  • avoid attending Programme activities while impaired by alcohol or drugs to the extent that safe participation is affected.

Parimukti reserves the right to issue warnings, restrict participation in particular activities, or immediately remove a participant whose behaviour materially disrupts the Programme or endangers the safety, wellbeing, or experience of others.

Removal for serious misconduct constitutes a material breach of these Terms and does not entitle the participant to any refund.

20. Confidentiality

Participants are encouraged to discuss their own learning and personal experiences following the Programme.

However, participants agree to respect the privacy of fellow participants.

Without the express permission of the individual concerned, participants must not disclose another participant’s:

  • personal stories;
  • health information;
  • emotional disclosures;
  • contact information;
  • photographs; or
  • other identifying information.

This confidentiality obligation survives the conclusion of the Programme.
