Relying on your element

imageI’ve never lived inland before, I grew up on an island of the south west coast of Ireland and then at the age of 17 I moved to Tasmania- an island state off southern Australia. Water is my element, It’s where my worries disappear and my confidence flows. My ritual growing up revolved around the tide, “is it high? Is it low, can we swim and jump today?”

Come rain or sun we were in the sea. So for me living here in the mountains in Dharamsala is out of my comfort zone. I don’t know how to spend my free time because if there was a beach I’d be there. Jumping in the sea feels like such a natural solution to everything!

However I gladly embrace the change of scenery and it is really interesting to observe how the environment that you are living in effects you. Now seems like a good opportunity to gently invite some positive change into my new environment.

Yesterday we went to the hot springs and literally spent our time bathing and chilling out.
It was amazing.
The river was flowing wildly and it was so good to just jump in and hang on to the rocks.

Among friends We ate, swam and relaxed against the back drop of the snow capped Mountains, what more can you ask for.
I was in my element…
